Our Projects

This is a stand-alone project started with funds from our mushroom project funded by Teach A Man to Fish - UK. We focus on breeding Holstein cows for milk production. We believe in our small dairy farm project and our aim is to run the first modern dairy farm in Cameroon that will serve West and Central Africa as a research and training center for future dairy farmers and  dairy scientist in the sub region. We hope to develop a long term program where local breeds will be improved through AI techniques to increase milk and meat production while curbing farmer-grazer conflict (rampant in NW region of Cameroon). We are currently working with 10 smallholder dairy farmers in the NW Region of Cameroon.

This is one of our trademark projects that started with the creation of CEDEP since 2012. This project has mentored 550 students on the cultivation of mushroom (the pollination project), growing organic vegetables and propagating fruit trees including apples, passion fruits, African plum, Avocado and non timber forest products. Youths are also being trained on crafts and embroidery skills.

The re-integration and rehabilitation of inmates in to the society has always been a challenge. Some inmates do successfully re-integrate whereas a bulk of them still find it difficult re-integrate and make a living after their jail term. This  is linked to several factors especially the absence of counseling and training initiatives to enable inmates to learn money management techniques and how to generate income in and out of prison.  With access to the right resources, inmates can become empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence to fulfill their potential. Learn more about our work by getting in touch with our team today. We are currently working with 300 inmates and will increase the number with time.

Households and farms in rural and peri-urban areas generate a lot of waste and also face water and sanitation problems. We have constructed more than 20 bio gas digesters for farmers in many villages in the North West and have installed a pilot bio gas digester in a farm in Buea-SW region. We promote agroforestry initiatives and have  lots of experience in nursery development.

Our projects have been funded by the Pollination project - USA in 2017 to promote mushroom cultivation by training students and farmers in Buea - SW region of Cameroon. This project was known as Pass-Over-The-Seed which trained farmers in Bamenda and it's environs (Sabga, Ndop) and 10 students from the Regional College of Agriculture - Bambili. We also spread the seed to Buea and it's environs and introduced mushroom cultivation in Buea. Thanks to this, we could partner and work with the mushroom coordinator at MINADER (Regional Delegation of Agriculture) Currently, we have more than 10 mushroom farmers with more than 300 students have been trained.

We were also supported (2015-2016) by Teach A Man to Fish - UK to promote mushroom cultivation in Schools and students of the Pan African Institute for Development-West Africa (PAID-WA) - Buea and the Agricultural club students of the University of Buea benefited from this training and a pilot mushroom farm was created at the Pan African institute and a student carried out a research supported by our project. Now, we have mushroom farmers in Buea-SWR thanks to this project.

Promoting agribusiness is very essential to addressing youth unemployment and reducing migration. We have the technical know-how and most of our projects are being implemented by members in partnership with MINADER (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) and MINEPIA (Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industry) Regional Offices.

We run a small dairy farm in the region with logistic support from the Upper Farms Secondary Prisons. The Prison authority have also granted us access to train, empower and counsel inmates to make them more resourceful at the end of their terms and to ensure that they don't return to jail.
