Daisy .T. Fonkem

Founder/Program Manager

Daisy Fonkem is the Founder of CEDEP and holds a Masters of Science in Development Studies and NGO Management from the University of East London-United Kingdom; with a BSc. in Geography-Environmental-Management from the University of Dschang-Cameroon. She has the enthusiasm and drive to empower women, girls and youths especially inmates to become successful and responsible citizens. She is currently mentoring students at the Pan African Institute for Development-West Africa - Buea in using beads to make high-end necklaces, bracelets, bangles and ear rings. This is an extensive program that provides 30hrs of mentorship activities to students to enable them to be self-reliant upon graduation while in the job market

She is the brain behind the creation of CEDEP to empower youths and farmers especially women and girls with practical skills to improve on their production systems and train inmates in prisons with skills that will enable them integrate with other members of the society upon release. She is imbued with lots of technical skills in tailoring, dress marking and making, jewelry making using beads and wire works etc. As a lecturer and trainer she is empowering inmates with self and time management techniques to build the spirit of self consciousness, responsibility and accountability.

Fomba Gilbert

Tree domestication Expert

He is very instrumental in promoting our agroforestry project through the establishment of a tree nursery where many youths have benefited from and we have generated income from the sales of grafted trees. He has more than 10 years of macro propagation techniques and have been conserving a lot of trees especially fruit trees and timber trees as well as helping private plantation investors to open more than 300 ha of palms plantation. The large tree nursery based in Bamenda town serves as a practical learning site and a source of income.

Brian VEGAH VIYOF

Research and Extension Officer

Responsible for Training farmers, mentoring students, promoting research for development, extension services, designing and writing projects. He is currently focus on introducing ICT tools in agribusiness activities in Cameroon while promoting climate-smart dairy farming and bio gas construction. He holds a Masters of Science in Agroforestry from the University of Yaounde I and a BSc. in Geography-Environmental Management for the University of Dschang. He is currently a NEYAT (Nurturing Youths in Agricultural Technologies) Ambassador with the West and Central Africa Council for Agricultural Research and Development (CORAF/WECARD). He is focus on promoting agribusiness activities in agroforestry, mushroom cultivation, dairying farming value chain and other sectors.

Susan Bate Ebob

Social Worker

She holds a Bachelors Degree in Social works and Masters degree in Peace and Conflict Resolution and has extensive experience working with disabled and displaced persons in especially in crisis situation. She actively engaged in the prison project making sure they stick to the work plan and target outputs. She is our liaison social worker at the Prison project.

Bertila Esandoua

In this part-time position, she manages incoming and outgoing income while focusing on developing agribusiness initiatives with lots of experience in implementing and managing tomato, maize and poultry (especially layers for egg) projects. She currently runs and coordinates an initiative that educates and empower kids and youths in schools on being good citizens and building their self-esteem while employing the teachings of the Bible. She is currently a beneficiary of the YABIC (Youth Agribusiness Incubation Center) project between MINADER and IITA.  She holds a BSc. in Economics from the University of Dschang-Cameroon. She has lots of experience working with and training farmers in the SW region of Cameroon with excellent group dynamic and agribusiness skills. She is currently one of the mentee for the YABIT project under the Regional Delegation of Agriculture and Rural Development and IITA (International Institute for Tropical Agriculture).
